1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Global Shine LLC (“Global Shine,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a family-owned residential cleaning company serving Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit our website, request an estimate, or use our cleaning services.
By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
When you request an estimate, contact us, or book a cleaning, you may provide:
- Contact details — name, email address, and phone number.
- Address — street address, city, and ZIP code of the home to be cleaned.
- Home details — property type, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, whether you have pets, and how often you need cleaning.
- Service details — scheduling preferences, entry or access instructions, special requests, and any other information you choose to share with us.
- Payment information — when you pay by check, we receive the details printed on it. When you pay through PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle, the payment is processed by that provider and we only receive confirmation of the payment and the name or handle associated with it. We do not store card numbers.
When you submit our online estimate form, the information you enter is sent to us through our website, which runs on WordPress, and is stored in the website’s secure admin area. We also receive a copy by email, and our website emails you a preliminary price estimate based on the home details you entered.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and the pages you view. To protect our estimate form from spam, our website uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which may process technical information such as your IP address and browser details to tell real visitors from automated bots. Cloudflare’s use of this information is governed by the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information only to run our business and serve you, including to:
- prepare and send preliminary estimates and confirm final pricing after an in-person visit;
- schedule, confirm, and perform cleanings, and contact you about your appointments;
- process payments and keep business and tax records;
- respond to your questions, requests, and feedback, including satisfaction guarantee requests;
- improve our services and website;
- protect the safety and security of our team, our clients, and our business; and
- comply with legal obligations.
5. Text messages (SMS)
If you give us your mobile phone number, you agree that we may send you text messages related to your service, such as appointment confirmations, scheduling updates, and arrival notices. These messages are informational, not marketing.
- Message frequency varies depending on your bookings. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to stop receiving text messages at any time. Reply HELP for help, or contact us using the details below.
- We do not sell or share your mobile number or text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. Our website platform (WordPress) may set a small number of strictly necessary cookies, for example to keep the site secure, protect forms from spam, or keep our own staff signed in to the admin area. These cookies are not used to identify or track visitors.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because we do not track visitors across websites, our practices are the same whether or not that setting is turned on.
If we add analytics or similar tools in the future, we will update this policy before doing so.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy: while you are a client, and afterward as needed to handle questions, maintain business and tax records, and meet legal requirements. Estimate requests submitted through our website, including those that do not lead to a booking, are deleted from the website’s admin area and our email when they are no longer needed.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect your information, including limiting access to the team members who need it. Entry codes, keys, and access instructions are shared only with the team assigned to your home. However, no method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your choices and rights
You may contact us at any time to:
- ask what personal information we have about you;
- correct or update your information;
- ask us to delete your information, unless we must keep it for legal or business-record purposes; or
- stop receiving emails or text messages from us.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state’s privacy laws. We will respond to verifiable requests within the time required by applicable law. We will not treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.
10. Children’s privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above. If the changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
